HBOT Improves Quality of Life in PTSD Sufferers

A particular 2017 study notes improvement in many of those suffering from PTSD and TBI symptoms when subjects had medical grade HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) as part of their healing protocol. 29 people from the military improved their quality of life during this study. The study explained that “HBOT was found to be safe and significantly effective for veterans with mild to moderate TBI PPCS with PTSD in all four outcome domains: clinical medicine, neuropsychology, psychology, and SPECT imaging. According to this study, Controlled trial, HBOT Improves Symptoms in PTSD, “It is now clear that traumatic events cause long-term changes of brain activity and microstructural integrity.” The study found that HBOT “can induce neuroplasticity and improve PTSD related symptoms of veterans suffering for treatment resistant PTSD.” There were subjects involved that did not experience TBI, and were being treated for PTSD only.
